I was home for thanksgiving last week and decided to store my Cobra for the Winter(Salt On The Street) Season. I just got the Cobra at the beginning of the summer and have never had a car worth storing. So, I will explain how to store a vehicle safely. The first step is the last two times you fill up your tank with gas, fill up with the non-oxygenated gas because it does not go bad as quickly. Before you leave the gas station, fill the tires up to fifty PSI so that your tires do not go flat before spring. Then you have the option to park the vehicle in a sheltered area like a garage or if no space is vacant, you can simply park your car in your driveway, but in this case, more preparation is necessary. If stored outdoors, you should remove the battery and bring inside so that it does not loose its charge. Next, place steal wool in the exhaust pipes of the vehicle so as to protect from mice making a home in the muffler. Finally a cotton blanket should be placed over the car and a steardy tarp over that. Then fix bunge cords at the bottom of the tarp so that the wind does not blow the tarp away. This is how to store your vehicle in the winter months, remember to get the heavy snow off the vehicle when it snows. If you have any questions please check out this link explaining this process in more depth. How to Prepare for Storage.
